Trui van Lier Playground

The Trui van Lier Speelkwartier in the Wilhelminapark was officially opened on April 20, 2024.
During the Second World War, Trui van Lier and Jet Berdenis van Berlekom ran the Kindjeshaven daycare center at Prins Hendriklaan 4. This daycare center was initially intended for children from the neighborhood, but quickly became a shelter for Jewish children who had not yet found a permanent hiding place. They were able to shelter and rescue 150 Jewish children here from the hands of the occupying forces.
