Belgian War Graves Saint-Remy

The cemetery next to Saint-Remy church contains several war graves and graves of veterans.

Two monuments are also located here. One for Worldwar II and one for te veterans of Worldwar I.

Buried at the field of honor next to the church are 3 soldiers and a number of World War II veterans.

DEMARET Henri, age 27, soldier with the artillery, died while imprisoned in Germany (Thuine) on September 11th 1941. He was repatriated on March 21st 1949 and reburied at Saint-Remy.

GAILLARD Jacques, age 25, soldier with the artillery, died while imprisoned in Germany on 16 January 16th 1944

SAUVENIER Jean, age 27, soldier in the garrison of the forts of Liège, died while imprisoned in Austria (Wolfsberg) on 31 May 31st 1945 ! Probably his health had become so bad that he died after the war. He was exhumed on November 14th 1951 and arrived in Belgium on December 24th 1951, after which he was reburied at Saint-Remy.
