Of the seven crew members, five (pilot William James McAlpine, Howard McQueen, Floyd Edward Luxford, John Day White and Joseph Walter Halikowski) were killed in the crash near De Lijnbraak in Vierlingsbeek. The 2 air gunners, William Laurence Murphy and Ernest Bradley, managed to jump out of the burning aircraft and save their lives, but were subsequently captured by the Germans.
An information board was installed on 6 April in the presence of the Canadian ambassador and surviving relatives of the crew.
