Bunker Montfaucon-d'Argonne

The hill is the highest point between the Meuse river and the Argonne forest. In 1914, the Germans captured this hill and remained in possession until 1918. The entire hilltop was built up as an observation post with several bunkers even down to the destroyed church. In 1916 during the attack on Verdun's western flank, this hill played an important role.

This is one of the bunkers.
