Memorial to fallen residents of Newton Blossomville

This commemorative plaque installed in the outer wall of St Nicholas Cottage remembers the 5 men from the village who lost their lives in the First World War.

"To the immortal glory of the men of this village
who fell in the Great War 1914 - 1918

Pte. Geo Hobbs 8th Beds Regt
Pte. Fred. C. Andrews 2nd Middx Regt
Pte. Ernest G. Bransome 2nd Ox & Bucks LI
Gnr. David Taylor R.F.A.
and to
Pte. Wm T. Herbert 11th Royal Warwicks Regt who, invalided out of the army on account of wounds etc came home and died.
