Memorial Turisser Innsbruck

On 27-1-2024 a Zeitpunkt was placed for Anna TURISSER, born Rück, on 30-4-1900 in Innsbruck.

Until her marriage, Anna worked in a printing house.
In the spring of 1934 she was admitted to the psychiatric clinic in Innsbruck.
In January 1937, Turisser placed his wife in the nursing home of the Sisters of Mercy in Imst.
On March 14, 1941, the National Socialists transferred Anna Turisser to the sanatorium and nursing home in Hall as part of the Nazi euthanasia program.
On March 20, 1941, she was transferred, together with 91 other men and women, to the Hartheim killing center near Linz.

The city of Innsbruck has taken a new path when it comes to commemorations.
On January 27, 2024, International Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Holocaust, the new project "Zeitpunkte" was presented.
A hand-made bronze disc with a diameter of approximately eight centimeters and a thickness of three centimeters is mounted at eye level on light poles or posts in the immediate vicinity of the last freely chosen place of residence of the victims of the Nazi dictatorship. The person's name is on the round plaque, the "Zeitpunkt".
The inscription is engraved and sealed.
