Memorial Rebuilding Ochten

Ochten was frequently shelled during the Battle of the Betuwe between September 1944 and May 1945 and was largely destroyed as a result. No house remained undamaged and more than half of all houses lay completely in ruins.

A plaque has been bricked into wall of the tower of the rebuilt church in 1955, recalling the community's effort to rebuild the village.
