Memorial Kaprijke

In the town hall of Kaprijke there is a memorial plaque for two Kaprijk residents who died on the field of honor in the First World War.

Cesar Lieven NAERT, soldier 2nd class 6th Line, died in Wilsele on 12-9-1914.
He was 28 years old, unmarried, a laborer by profession. He was first buried in Wilsele-Putkapel and in 1924 at the Belgian military cemetery of Veltem-Beisem.
This cemetery mainly contains the graves of Belgian victims of the fighting on the Dyle Line in August and September 1914.

Prosper Joseph BAUWENS, soldier 2nd class 4th Artillery 65th Battery, died in Hansbeke on 22-10-1918. He was 27 years old, unmarried, and a sawyer by profession.
He rests in the cemetery of Hansbeke.
