Memorial Fallen Workers Illegal Newspapers WW2

On the wall of School Gein 3, as part of 75 years of Freedom, four plaques have been placed in memory of the workers of the illegal newspapers Het Parool, Trouw, De Waarheid and Vrij Nederland who were killed during World War II. In Gein3dorp, the street names are named after some of these resistance fighters.

The monument was unveiled on 2 September 2020 in the presence of Greet Staats-Posthuma (daughter of Jelle Posthuma), the district chairman and editors-in-chief of Parool, Trouw, Vrij Nederland and the last editor-in-chief of De Waarheid.
