Position Anti-aircraft Section MiCA

At this position on May 10th, 1940, there was an anti-aircraft section, MiCA (Mitrailleuse Contre Avions). The section consisted of 4 machine guns with crews from the fort's garrison.

The photograph was taken from Bloc IV in the direction of Dome 120. The machine gun section was located on the side of Bloc IV. The position itself is no longer visible today.

These position was set up on top of the fort to help defend the fort against aircraft. After all, they could shoot higher and in all directions from their position, unlike the machine guns in the bunkers. During the fighting, 2 of the 4 machine guns malfunctioned.

In the attack on May 10th, this section was captured, in which the soldiers;

HEINE Adriën, age 24, was badly wounded and eventually died in Maastricht on May 25th, 1940. He is buried on the field of honor of the Robermont cemetery in Liège.

REMY Albert, age 24, killed in action. He is buried on the field of honor of the cemetery Robermont in Liège.

The other soldiers present here were forced to surrender and carried off in the direction of bunker Mi north.
