Cycling Route Maashees - War Memorial Church

Every year on May 4, we commemorate the people who did not survive the violence of war in our village, the youngest was only 5 years old: Martien Jans.
Hen Peeters was a soldier who died on the first day of the war.
Martien Jans and An Bekkers were hit by shrapnel.
Hen Peeters, Jan van Es and Antoon Lenssen, Maash boys who died as soldiers, near or far from home.
Soldiers and pilots from England and Germany who never returned home, a skipper who was unlucky enough to sail through Maashees and a pastor who became a victim of a war crime.
