Memorial Lede

Following the commemoration of "One Hundred Years of the Great War", an honorary diploma "City or Municipality Victim of War 1914-1918" was established by Royal Decree of 10 June 2014.
This honorary diploma with a matching commemorative ribbon to be attached to the flag of the city or municipality serves to recognize the merits of the Belgian cities or municipalities, which were particularly hard hit by the fighting, bombings and massacres that took place during the First World War between August 4, 1914 and November 11, 1918.
The honorary diploma and the commemorative ribbon are awarded after application by the Minister of National Defense if the municipality or city meets the conditions.
The Municipality of Lede was thus awarded an honorary diploma and commemorative ribbon.
