Stumbling Stones Noordermarkt 36

'A HUMAN BEING IS FORGOTTEN ONLY WHEN THE NAME IS FORGOTTEN'
(Talmud)

Here in Amsterdam two Stumbling Stones were laid for:

MARCUS DE GROOT, died on May 11, 1940 in Amsterdam as a result of the Bombardment at Blauwburgwal.
BETJE DE GROOT-LAP, died on September 15, 1940 in Amsterdam.

One Stumbling Stone is here for a war victim as a result of war actions in the Second World War.
