Memorial 100 Years Völkerschlacht

Near the wooden Gustav Adolf Kirche in Hahnenklee is a memorial from october 1913 that commemorates the fact that the Völkerschlacht had taken place 100 years ago then. The memorial was an initiative of the Hahnenklee Veterans Association and funded by donations from the population.

In the same year, Kaiser Wilhelm also unveiled the giant Völkerslacht Denkmal in Leipzig.

During this battle during the Sixth Coalition War, Napoleon's French army was defeated by a coalition of troops from Russia, Prussia, Austria and Sweden.
