In 2018, the Agency for Nature and Forests called on all cities and municipalities to plant a peace tree to commemorate the end of the First World War on November 11, 1918.
This peace tree was planted at the Peace Sports Park, founded in 1946 in the aftermath of the Second World War.
The memorial plaque reads:
"This peace tree was planted in 2018 to commemorate the end of the First World War on November 11, 1918. Let us never forget the victims of yesterday. And today and tomorrow, let us work together more than ever for peace, freedom and human rights."
