Memorial Stone Frank van Borselenlaan 8

Here in Zeist, one memorial stone was laid for:

JOOP MEIJER.

Insurance agent Joop Meijer lived with his wife and son at Frank van Borselenaan 8. Joop was active in the resistance. He collected military intelligence, transported weapons, offered help to people in hiding and aircraft crews. In February 1945, he was betrayed and arrested. He was transferred to the prison at Wolvenplein in Utrecht. Joop was executed without trial as a reprisal at Fort de Bilt on April 16, 1945.
