Félix Bastin was a medical major with the 8th Artillery.
He was killed in Kaaskerke when he was on his way to care for a wounded soldier.
A projectile hit him in the shoulder and neck, killing him instantly. He was buried at the Belgian military cemetery in Oeren, next to soldier August Develter, the man he wanted to care for.
