Shell Impact Water Tower Groningen

During the liberation of Groningen in April 1945, there was considerable fighting in the area around the water tower, near the Noorderplantsoen.

This bullet hole was caused by a 6-pounder gun of the Canadians, positioned in Prinsesseweg.

The huge impact damaged both water tanks to such an extent that a huge mass of water gushed out, flushing out the German soldiers entrenched in the Water Tower.
