Fort de Laniscourt

Fort de Laniscourt was built between 1874 and 1885 and was part of the 2nd French defence line during the First World War. The fort saw heavy fighting.

Adolf Hitler and his entourage visited this fort on 25 June 1940. His regiment was stationed in this area.

The German army occupied the fort until 1944, when it withdrew.
