Lille Airport/ Aéroport de Lille
This airport was built in 1936 and was captured by the German army in June 1940. The Luftwaffe re-used it until 1944.
Adolf Hitler landed here on the morning of 26 June 1940 for his tour of south-west Belgium and northern France. At the end of the day he returned to take a plane to Gros Caillou.
