St. Nicolas Church Mesen

During the First World War, the crypt of the church housed a German field hospital. The church itself was destroyed during the war and rebuilt in 1928. Adolf Hitler, who was stationed in Mesen, made a drawing of the ruined church. It is quite possible that Hitler was treated for his injuries in the crypt.
