Venezia-Lido Airfield

This airport was built between 1909 and 1915 and was used for military purposes during the First World War.

On 14 June 1934, Adolf Hitler landed here for a state visit. He was met by Mussolini, who waved him goodbye here on 16 June.

The airport has remained largely architecturally intact and frescoes from the 1930s can be seen inside.
