V1 Launch Site Réalcamp nummer 169

On this concrete slab was a V1 launch base of the third generation. Compared to the previous generations, it was very minimalist and with few permanent buildings.

Because it was built in secret, completely sheltered by trees far from the surrounding hamlets, the Essartis site was only discovered after the liberation. The base was intended for attacks on London and is located about 216 kilometres from the British capital.
