Plot of Honour In Memoriam Saint-Aubin

Early in 1918, the German occupiers demanded that the municipality of Saint-Aubin create a war cemetery for soldiers of various nationalities who had died in the region during the war.
The first burial took place on 16 June 1918. A total of 168 graves were dug. The French soldiers were exhumed in December 1922, the Belgians in 1925 and the Germans in 1931.
Over time, no trace of the cemetery could be found. In 2013, sixteen crosses, ten Germans, three Belgians and three French, were found and restored.
These crosses are located in a row near the entrance, next to the graves of the French pilot Lieutenant Aviator Paul Costey and the French soldier Hamou Bekhouche of the 33rd Régiment d'Artillerie Nord Africain.
