German Bunker WH 311 Dasburg

This bunker number WH 311 of type Regelbau 116b was built before 1940 as part of the Westwall or Siegrfiedlinie. This German defence line that ran from the Netherlands to the Swiss border was abandoned after the conquest of France in 1940 but was reinstated when the war opportunities returned. Meanwhile, the line no longer met the changed conditions and was then hastily modernised.

The bunker was attacked by US on 22 February 1945 and captured after a short battle. The bunker was later blown up.

This bunker is included in the Bunkerwanderung Dasburg ‘Von Grau zu Grün’
