In 2013, the Neuplatz memorial site was created at the initiative of the civic association Pro Wertheim to commemorate former Jewish fellow citizens. It contains several information boards about the history of the synagogue and the deportation. There are photos of the 15 Jewish citizens who were deported to Gurs on October 22, 1940 and died in the extermination camp in the east in 1942.
A symbolic shadow of the synagogue, which was demolished in 1961, is embedded in the Neuplatz floor as a black paving contour.
In memory of those who died in the city during the Nazi era, 73 stumbling stones were also laid in Wertheim between 2009 and 2014.
