Peace Monument Sint-Gillis-Waas

In September 2024, a Peace Monument was inaugurated at the library of Sint-Gillis-Waas.
On the massive stone is a white dove of peace with a palm branch.
Below it hangs a picture with the text:
"A large part of peace consists in
to want peace from the heart," a quote from Erasmus from 1517.
The peace monument was erected in 2024 at the initiative of the local branches of the National Union of Fighters of Belgium. The stone was donated by natural stone company Carrara.
