Belgian War Graves Waasmunster-Ruiter

At the Ruiter cemetery, behind the St. John the Baptist Church, are two war graves.

Marcel WUYTACK , born in Waasmunster on 31-03-1913.
He was a soldier with the 2nd Guides, 7th Squadron of Motorcycle Riders, 4th Platoon
He was killed by an aircraft bomb near Elderschans when the 7th Motorcycle Squadron tried to get away from the Leie Defense Line (Leopold Canal), which was once again lost, via Dutch territory. He died of his injuries in the hospital in Aardenburg on 24-5-1940.

Cyriel VAN DE VOORDE, civilian victim, died on 26-5-1940 at the age of 19.
