Crashsite Lancaster III ND433 MG-L

At this location the Lancaster bomber of the 7 squadron crashed during the night of 30 to 31 March 1944. The Lancaster III ND433 MG-L was shot down near Freinesteinau by a German night fighter. This monument was erected by the local population in memory of the aircrew members who died here in the crash. The names of the crew are listed on the monument.
