Western Air Defence Zone - Langendorf Battery Position

Western air defence zone - Langendorf battery position
Former inventory: 17 concrete installations, including
- 5 gun emplacements
- 5 crew bunkers
- 3 ammunition bunkers
- 2 MG embrasure stands

On 8-9-1939, the 3rd battery, Flakabteilung 511 was located in the Langendorf position. In December, the 2nd battery belonging to the 1st division of the anti-aircraft regiment is documented in the position.
On 12-12-1944, the 89th Infantry Division moved its command post to the Langendorf anti-aircraft bunkers. In the night from 14 to 15 December, the command post was relocated to the Westwall bunkers west of Fösterei Mariawald.
In November 1961, 2 crew bunkers were put out to tender for removal, and the roof of a third bunker was to be blown off.
A contract was concluded with the landowners under which the federal government assumed the costs of removal and the remains in the ground became the property of the landowner. The federal government was thereby released from all claims.
