Reimahg was an underground factory for the production of the ME 262 jet fighter.
Reimahg stands for Reichsmarschall Herman Goering. 12,000 forced laborers were involved in the construction of the factory and the production of the aircraft, who were housed in forty labor camps. The top of Walsperberg was flattened and provided with a runway. A few jet fighters have left this mountain.
The site has been privately owned since 2023 and has been fenced off and secured since September 2024, so it can no longer be entered.
The local museum and association organizes guided tours and exhibitions.
