Grave Memorial Waldfriedhof Aachen

This special grave monument is located at the "Waltfriethof" in Aachen on the part of the cemetery where German soldiers who fell in both World Wars are buried.

The monument is adorned with a sculpted Stahlhelm of the 1916 model from World War I (longer collar than the model from World War II), resting on two crossed swords. On the inside is a German cross surrounded by a wreath of oak leaves.

The grave monument commemorates 3 soldiers.

On the front

BECKMAN Alfred, age 78, General Major, who died in 1946.

On the side contains carved in Latin language

BARTELS Hugo, age 24, Oberleutnant with the artillery, he died while being transported to the lazaret on October 9th, 1916.

On the back

LUHN Klaus, age 26, Leutnant, killed at Lipki, Russia on Oct. 5th, 1941. (Dr. in Science)

Whether all three are buried here and whether they are related is still under investigation.
