Dutch War Graves Brookwood Military Cementary

This cemetery (Long Av, plot 20-25) contains the graves of 12 Dutch servicemen killed during World War II:

Holtrop, Hilbrand Gerrit, 21-1-1911 - 10-06-1944
IJsselstein, Jacobus Adrianus, 23-5-1917 - 8-6-1944
Kwast, Paulus, 30-6-1912 - 8-4-1944
Meester, Jacob, 19-7-1923 - 8-6-1944
Mensingh, Theophile Pierre, 16-1-1920 - 8-6-1944
Michielsen, Erik Frits Karel 8-7-1916 - 26-8-1944
Mulder, Gerhardus 1-10-1915 - 8-6-1944
Preter, Eduard Emile George 22-9-1921 - 11-8-1944
Stoffels, Roelof David 27-8-1920 - 8-6-1944

The eight victims died on 8 June 1944 as their B-25 Mitchell bombers collided in the dark.
Hilbrand Holtrop crashed his Mosquito plane over the English Channel on 10 June 1944.
Paulus Kwast was killed in an accident.
Erik Michielsen was killed when his Wellington bomber crashed during a training flight.
Eduard Preter was an air gunner in the RAF died of his injuries.
