Hero's walk WWI and WWII Schoolstraat

The Heroes Walk in Ingelmunster tells the history of several freedom fighters through various locations with a striking story from one of the world wars.
Along the route, which is just over 4 km long, you will stop at nine facades. The memorial plaques always contain a QR code with which one can read the detailed stories of all the heroes.

The walk starts at the Gravenkapel in the heart of the cemetery in Schoolstraat.
By starting the walk here we want to pay tribute to all soldiers, resistance fighters, deportees, political and other prisoners who saw their youth, happiness, future or even their lives lost due to one of the two wars.
In the Gravenkapel you can look up the exact location of the graves of all heroes. A visit to their grave can be a posthumous expression of gratitude and tribute.
