Memorial Liberation Autun

There is a memorial plaque in the Sous-Préfecture of Autun that commemorates the liberation of Autun in September 1944.

"The First French Army
under the command of
General de Lattre de Tassigny,
forged in Africa and Italy,
landed in Provence and
supplemented by French troops
from the interior,
liberated Autun on 8 and 10.9.1944
during his victorious march
to the Rhine and the Danube"
