Sulphuric Acid Tanker Bristol

This acid tanker, built by C. Roberts of Wakefield in 1940, was used at the Royal Ordnance Factory at Puriton, Somerset (ROF 37) which became operational in 1941. The factory was connected to the Great Western Railway by a private standard gauge branch line and sidings. This was used for the transportation of coal and acid in tankers from ICI to the site and the distribution of the finished munitions.
This tanker has been rescued and restored by the Bristol Harbour Railway Society.
