Memorial Desselgem Ooigemstraat

As part of the 100-year commemoration of the First World War, a memorial monument was inaugurated at every cemetery in Desselgem in 2014.

Top: "Desselgem Cemetery Ooigemstraat
1914-1918 1940-1945
Never again war"
Below are the names of the deceased buried there who played a certain role in the First and/or Second World War, with the year of birth and death stated.

The memorial plaque reads at the bottom:
"At the setting of the sun
And in the early morning
We will always remember them,"
loosely translated from "For the Fallen" by Robert Laurence Binyon, 1914"
