Stele Town Hall Petit-Rechain

On the town hall of Petit-Rechain is the stele commemorating the citizens and soldiers of the village who died during the 1st World War.

NICOLET Joseph, age 25, soldier with the 4th Line Regiment, killed in action in Noordscote on October 24th, 1915.

RAMET Thomas, age 29, brigadier with the artillery regiment Fotifiée de Liège (RFL), died in captivity at Anfeld an der Leine (Germany) after an accident on December 6th, 1916.

WARNOTTE Nicolas, age 28, soldier with the 34th linieregiment, died in captivity, by drowning while bathing at Parchim on July 14th, 1917

MATHONET François, age 29, soldier with the 3rd regiment of hunters on foot, died of the effects of contracted disease (probably Spanish flu) in the military hospital 'Porte de Gravelines' at Calais (France) on October 15th, 1918.

SECHEHAYE Paul, age 21, corporal with the 12th Regiment of Hunters on Foot, died at Nice (France) on August 20th, 1918.

Also commemorates that the German army executed 2 civilians of the village on the 1st day of the war, August 4th, 1914.
