Memorial Belgian Political Prisoners Dachau

This memorial remembers and commemorates Belgians who were imprisoned or died in Dachau concentration camp in Bavaria, Germany.

They were mostly political prisoners or members of the resistance. But clergymen or communists were also taken to Dachau.

Belgian prisoners were identified by the red triangle with the letter B, of Belgian, which they had to wear on their clothes Polish prisoners had the same triangle but with the letter P of Pole.

On top of the monument is a piece of barbed wire referring to fences with barbed wire around the camp.
