In the Wegnez cemetery there is a small tomb of honor for the fallen (soldiers and members of the resistance, Armée Secret) of both World Wars.
The present monument is somewhat in disrepair. Timely action was taken by shoring up the monument. It now awaits better times. The text on the monument reads;
Rest in peace, I keep watch.
Buried there include.
MONVILLE Clement, age 21, soldier with the Regiment Fortifiée de Liège, and stationed at Fort Tancrémont, he was killed during the fighting at bunker Vesdre on May 22, 1940. A separate monument to him and soldier Huysmans has been erected near the bunker.
PELZER Henri, age 19 !, no further details known.
