American War Graves Malmö (Eastern Cemetery)

Although Sweden remained neutral during World War II, there are also Allied war graves here, mainly of airmen who crashed into the sea during air raids on Germany or German-occupied countries and washed up on the Swedish coast.

On section 4C of the Eastern Municipal Cemetery (Östra kyrkogården) of Malmö contains the graves of two airmen from the United States:

T.Sgt. Oakley J. Ragland jr.
1 March 1923 - 20 October 1944
and
Capt. Thomas C. Campbell
6 May 1920 - 20 October 1944

Between the graves is a monument in the shape of a propeller. Both were part of the crew of a C-87 Liberator Express (converted B24 bomber with a civilian registration) that crashed over Sweden due to bad weather.
