Stolpersteine De Hove 13 / 15 (former A 59)

These brass plaques (Stolpersteine or Stumbling Stones), which were laid on 15-11-2024 commemorate:

SELMA MARTHA JACOBSOHN-COHEN (born 1900, deported 22-1-1943 from the Apeldoornsche Bos, murdered 25-1-1943 Auschwitz).
HANS JOACHIM JACOBSOHN (born 1925, arrested 28-7-1942, deported 28-8-1942 Dracy, forced labour Blechhammer, died 31-5-1945 Central Europe).

These Stolpersteine are here for Jewish war victims, persecuted, deported and murdered in World War II.

‘Stolpersteine’ is an art project in Europe by Gunter Demnig commemorating victims of National Socialism (Nazism). Stolpersteine (trip stones) are small, 10x10cm brass plaques placed in the pavement in front of a residence of (mostly Jewish) victims of the Nazis. Each plaque bears the victim's name, date of birth and their fate. In this way, Gunter Demnig gives an individual memorial to each victim. One stone, one name, one person. He quotes the Talmud: ‘A person is forgotten only when his or her name is forgotten.’
