‘Het Parool’ was one of the largest of the almost 1,300 illegal newspapers. The smaller illegal papers were stencilled, but because of its large numbers ‘Het Parool’ was produced by printers, such as J. Jesse. The inventory of printing company Jesse can be seen in the Resistance Museum. Illegal printing was dangerous. Especially as the heavy lead type could not be hidden in the event of a Nazi raid.
