Vijzelstraat 4: aircraft crash
On 27 April 1943, an allied bomber crashed into the Carlton hotel, causing an explosion in the hotel. For a while it seemed like a deliberate attack, as the German Luftwaffe were billeted in the hotel. But it turned out that the bomber had been hit by German anti-aircraft guns.
