Stralsund–Barth Airport

Ortseeflughafen Stralsund-Barth was opened in 1936 and was used by the Luftwaffe until the end of the Second World War. Initially, the airfield had seven aircraft hangars. In the 1940s, a paved runway was built.

2 May 1945: The Red Army conquers the airfield and several Soviet air units are stationed here. May 12-15, 1945: Operation Revival

The airport was expanded and modernized after the war.
