Frankfurt Main Airport

Flughafen Frankfurt Main was used by the Luftwaffe during the Second World War, Adolf Hitler flew from Belgium to Frankfurt on 17 June 1940 and boarded his Sonderzug here to continue his journey to Munich. The airport was bombed between 1944 and 1945. The airport was detonated by retreating German troops in March 1945.
