In 1899, the Kaiser Wilhelm Barracks was built where 2 infantry battalions of the 2. Badischen Grenadier-Regiments Kaiser Wilhelm I. Nr. 110 are housed here.
After the Treaty of Versailles and the demilitarization of Germany, the barracks grounds were used as civilian housing.
From 1936 onwards, the Wehrmacht moves in again and, among other things, the Panzerabwehr abteilung is housed there.
After the Second World War, the barracks was initially used to house displaced persons, but from 1947 the American army took over the barracks and renamed it to Turley Barracks.
After the Americans closed the barracks in 2007, it is now being converted into a modern residential area.
