Memorial Fighting Bocianská Valley

At the intersection opposite the bus stop there is a memorial that commemorates the heavy fighting in this area from September 5 to October 23, 1944. This area was the northern part where units of the Czechoslovak army and partisans held out against German attacks to breaking through to Brezno via the Bocianská valley.
The text on the monument translated means:

In eternal remembrance. the heroes of the SNP who gave their lives in the red corner. This was the Faschist Valley of Death
