Jewish Memorial St. John's Church Hamburg

On the exterior wall of St. John's Church, since November 1994, there has been a memorial plaque commemorating the city's 20,000 Jewish residents, of whom only 945 remained in 1945. The text reads, “We remained silent when they were disenfranchised, expelled and gassed and their synagogues destroyed. We ask for forgiveness and shalom.”
