Stolperstein Resistance fighter Louis Schellekens Vosselaar

This small brass plaque (Stolpersteine), laid here on 11-11-2024 commemorates: Louis Schellekens.
Louis was a member of the Kempisch Legioen. This resistance group did several actions from the Gielsbos and where at the end of the war their headquarters were in a farmhouse.

On 20 September 1944, they were attacked by a group of Germans. Louis was mortally wounded in this fighting. He died the following day in Turnhout hospital.
